The use of the BanaLogic Digital Pen Solution provides users with the completely intuitive nature of a pen coupled with endless information networking possibilities. It’s safe to say that the use of a pen is commonplace in the inspection industry as a variety of inspection or audit functions can be carried out
untethered from cumbersome mobile devices/systems. Therefore, it seems a natural step to take the pen and strengthen its capabilities by introducing an electronic element. BanaLogic has taken this technology and developed an application that when combined, presents what we think is the most appropriate mobile inspection model developed.
The compliance industry has long searched for the most effective way to gather information from field staff in an electronic format. The majority, if not all inspectors or field staff, use a pen to make notes and or collect actual inspection information. By providing technology that does not hinder this process but accompanies it, inspectors are provided the most intuitive means to collect inspection information. The digital pen can be used as a regular pen if the inspector desires but when this technology is coupled with the supporting application and network capabilities BanaLogic has incorporated, it becomes a device that can:
- Collect field information electronically, including signatures
- Gather checklist-type information to be used for later analysis; and
- Integrate field inspection information.
BanaLogic has designed an application and system to support the field e-pen that can be used in any field inspection application. Initially the inspection criteria are established through careful consultation with the client. Following this a template can be designed that matches the information needs of the inspection. This template is then taken with the inspector into the field to the inspection where checks and comments made with the pen on the form are translated to accessible information when uploaded to a central database. Information can be uploaded at the end of the day or via the inspectors’ vehicles through a convenient pen loading/power docking station. Upon return to the office or during in-office work days the inspector can review inspection information and electronically transfer the final reports to their supervisor for final sign-off. The BanaLogic e-pen solution can be integrated to fit any audit or field inspection application currently in use.
